When is Topshop launching down under? And where? I keep hearing rumours, but want details! - Mary-Anne, VIC.
It's the question on everyone's lips! We quizzed the UK retailer's Australian PRs about it (urm, begged may be a better description), and they could only tell us that they were working on the flagship's Melbourne store launch, and the doors are set to open by the end of the year. And the site? Chapel Steet's Jam Factory building in South Yarra. The first NSW store will be the Gowings Building on George Street in Sydney's CBD, and will open in 2012 - potentially around August. International chain stores have their sights set on the Australian retail market, with rumblings about H&M and Uniqlo also entering the Aussie market in the next few years. The question is, will they be able to replicate the phenomenal success of Zara? Adelaide is next on Zara's to-conquer list, with a SA flagship set open within the Burnside Village shopping centre.
