When it comes to dissecting red carpet trends, it tends to fall into categories of colour. This year was no excpetion, with white, bold brights and ever-present nude tones all showing up prominently on our best dressed celebs. But another less obvious trend caught our attention - the belted dress. The perfect way to show off a teeny waist AND ramp up those curves is with a cinched silhouette. Louis Vuitton was a front runner of this ladylike trend, and Claire Danes was a picture of waspish-waisted perfection in this floral frock today. Other ladies to follow suit included a monochrome clad Ariel Winter, Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen, Rosario Dawson in J. Mendel, Christina Hendircks in L'Wren Scott, as well as Lea Michele and Jennifer Lawrence - both in Oscar de le Renta. Simple but super effective, the waist is where it's at.
