Kathryn Bigelow won the "Best Director" Oscar last year but it's still a man's world in Hollywood -- especially behind the camera.
Just ask Catherine Hardwicke. She directed 2008's "Twilight," the first in the hugely successful vampire franchise, but Hardwicke told TheWrap she was prevented from even pitching to direct "The Fighter."
Charlie Sheen's rehab leaves his potentially billion-dollar show with a third of its season unshot -- but his bosses are far from complaining.
CBS and Warner Bros. executives – who have raked in money even as they winced at Sheen's misadventures – have repeatedly stressed that nothing is more important to them than his health.

When it comes to dissecting red carpet trends, it tends to fall into categories of colour. This year was no excpetion, with white, bold brights and ever-present nude tones all showing up prominently on our best dressed celebs. But another less obvious trend caught our attention - the belted dress. The perfect way to show off a teeny waist AND ramp up those curves is with a cinched silhouette. Louis Vuitton was a front runner of this ladylike trend, and Claire Danes was a picture of waspish-waisted perfection in this floral frock today. Other ladies to follow suit included a monochrome clad Ariel Winter, Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen, Rosario Dawson in J. Mendel, Christina Hendircks in L'Wren Scott, as well as Lea Michele and Jennifer Lawrence - both in Oscar de le Renta. Simple but super effective, the waist is where it's at.

Chris Brown caused a bit of a stir late last week with a request to have the restraining order lifted against him. The order bars any contact with Rihanna.
The singer's rep is shooting down speculation that his lawyer made the request for any particular reason - such as a rendezvous with Ri at the Grammys.
Not so, says his camp. It's just the next step in the process of Chris completing the terms of his sentence and moving forward with clearing his name.
Tammy Brook, a rep for Brown, insists that there was no specific motive, and "the lifting of the restraining order is part of the ongoing legal proceedings."
"The date was scheduled months ago. Chris Brown is thankful for his nominations, but due to scheduling conflicts, [won't] attend the Grammys."
As part of the Rihanna assault case, Brown's attorney asked the judge to reduce the "stay away" order against him to a "do not annoy" order.
While the judge again praised Brown for his progress, the ruling was put off until a later date because Rihanna's attorney couldn't be reached.

Comcast has completed its $30 billion acquisition of NBC Universal, ending a long corporate odyssey that gives the country's largest cable provider control of an entertainment behemoth.
Comcast announced Saturday that the merger was completed Friday. It has 51 percent control of NBCU, with General Electric keeping 49 percent.

Kwanten spotted in 80's flashback with Bill Compton in this new True Blood season 4 spoiler. As previously reported, there's going to be a 1980's flashback scene in 1982 London for one of the True blood season 4 shows. Actor Darren Darnborough was cast to play character Callum who is a bartender in a punk underground nightclub. Now, according to trueblood-news,their source has gotten some more info on this flashback scene. They say that Ryan Kwanten who plays Jason Stackhouse was seen filming it with Stephen Moyer who plays Bill Compton on the show. So, it looks like Ryan Kwanten is going to be seen in the flashback scene with Bill.Charlie Sheen has been released from the hospital and will be on the set of "Two and a Half Men" on Tuesday, his rep said in a statement Friday.
